Empowering Yourself With Meditation – Out of The Box Style!

Caution: Read at your own risk!
The following article may contain extreme opinions that are not suitable for readers stuck inside society’s little box. These opinions are held by the writer, an Indigo warrior who teaches self-empowerment by breaking all the old control rules, breaking down out dated belief systems brining into alignment the New Reality being created through the only truth in life – that which is Love.
Love is Power, Control is Fear. You choose which reality you want to believe in. I choose self-empowerment through Love. Do you?
Do you believe that sitting crossed legged in a cave up on a mountaintop is “the right way” to meditate?
Have you given your power away to someone else’s belief? Or is this your belief?
If this is your belief, how did you acquire it? When did you actually own it as your belief? Did you pay for that belief? Do you believe that that is the only way to rightly practice meditation? If you do believe this, where did you get this belief from? Who gave you this belief? Have you given your power away to someone else’s fear? Did this belief come from within or did this belief come from outside of yourself?
I’m in no way at all saying you are wrong with what you believe. I actually honour your choices. I just want you to really have a look at and understand where, when and how you came to owning that belief, and when you made it part of your reality. After all, that is how we create our lives. If you are not aware of where this belief originated then your life is being played in default mode which means you are re-acting not creating. It would be wise to choose a new method of playing the game of life. It really is better than default mode!
I believe there are thousands of different ways and styles of meditating. There is no “right” meditation for everyone. It would be impossible as each and every one of us is unique in our own way. What works for some people doesn’t work for other people. If someone is telling you that you are “doing it wrong” or “not right,” I believe, that is an untruth.
To empower yourself, means you find what does work for you regardless of what other people are saying. If you have discovered that you find your inner peace by hanging upside down from a tree branch in your backyard while yodeling your heart out, then I stand, applaud and cheer you on!
If someone tells you that you are wrong in your method the first thing you need to do is ask yourself what is this person really afraid of? Why is it that they feel they need to dis-empower me? Who gives them authority to tell me what feels right to me?
After all, is it not you who knows what feels right to you? Is it not you that feels completely at bliss hanging from the tree branch? If it feels good, and it’s not hurting anyone, including yourself then how can it possibly be wrong?
It isn’t! Keep hanging upside down and yodel until your heart is content. You have found your place of empowerment! Don’t let your guards down because those that don’t come from their own place of empowerment will try to knock you off balance. When one expresses themselves differently than the rest of society it tends to make a lot of people very uncomfortable. Fear has a funny effect on us humans! When someone becomes uncomfortable with a situation they don’t like, the first thing they try to do is control it by blaming and making you feel bad or wrong. It’s not your problem, it’s their fear. Keep walking in your empowerment, your own truth!
As I have said before, it’s time to get rid of the rule book! We each are unique individuals and have our own ways of finding ourselves, its simply a matter of being brave enough to look beyond the boxes that society has created and remove the limitations.
Knock the people you have up on top of pedestals down because you are already a Master! Each and every one of us is on equal playing ground. No one is better, no one is lesser. We are equal. We are one. You may have forgotten so now it’s time to remember. It is up to you to get out of the box! It is up to you to find what works for you from within yourself, not from outside of yourself. Looking outside only gives your power away. You already have the key. You came into life with it. It is within!
The following are suggestions for meditation only, nothing written in stone.
There are many ways to meditate. They ALL lead to the same place. The simplest form of meditation is relaxation and focusing on the breath. I know I wrote yesterday suggesting visualizing if you couldn’t quite your mind. I suggested that because by you at least sitting for those ten minutes, putting forth the effort, you are beginning to form a habit. You are telling your ego that you are doing this whether it likes it or not. Keep practicing.
Now that you have done at least one meditation, let’s switch the visualizing to focusing on your breath. Breathe in through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Long deep cleansing breaths. Focus only on the sound of your breath, the feeling of your breath, the rhythm of your breath. When your mind begins to stray, and it will, bring your attention back to your breath.
Breathing deeply like this brings much needed universal life force energy into your entire being. This is the main reason why meditating is so good for you! We are energetic beings and we NEED universal life force energy in order to survive in the physical body. When the body is not breathing properly, the energy field is not being nourished, the chakras, meridians, nadis and energetic field become under nourished and disease or sickness begins.
If the ego mind won’t stop chattering away, first tell it gently to hush, that you are interested only in listening to your heart where spirit resides. Bring your focus back to your breathing. If you keep bringing up a problem and can’t let it go, sometimes it helps to have a pen and pad of paper handy so you can write down a brief word or two about the situation and go right back to meditating. This seems to help people relax knowing they have wrote it down and can come back to it later. Remember write only a couple of words and immediately return to your meditation. I suggest that you only do this if you absolutely have to because this will become a habit as well.
When you first begin to meditate I suggest a starting point of ten minutes and then working your way up to twenty minutes or longer. In the beginning a suggestion would be to find a space that is private, quiet and distraction free. Once you have worked with meditation over a couple of months you can actually meditate anywhere and begin to revive yourself with three to five minute mini meditations breaks throughout your day. This is extremely beneficial when you need to refresh your mind and relax again. I highly recommend “mini-medi” breaks!
Let’s face a truth, its fact we all use the restroom a few times during the day. Now at the office you can use the restroom and have a “mini-medi” break. Talk about multi-tasking! There is no excuse why you can’t take a couple of minutes to refresh yourself. There is more to us then just the physical. Balance in all of our bodies (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) is required in order to operate at optimal functioning level.
Look at all the benefits you’ll receive by making a commitment to practicing meditation on a daily basis for a minimum of ten minutes.
