True Spiritual Qualities

What does it mean to be spiritual?

It’s not what you DO that makes you spiritual or non-spiritual. It’s what you ARE. A truly spiritual person can be described as fully satisfied, content, happy and peaceful, without expectations, attachments, anxiety, or need. Genuine spiritual qualities are attitudes of BEING, not DOING. They depict traits of the HEART. These attributes aren’t visible, so do not ‘judge’ someone else. Remember judging someone else really means you are judging YOURSELF. However, you may look at your own status. If you display the following divine qualities, then you’ve attained a higher level of consciousness.

Understanding the True Spiritual Qualities

~ Non-Judgment - Rare is the individual who judges not. For judgment is prevalent, causing conflict, strife, war, murder. Who is qualified to judge anyone? We’re ALL divine children. NO ONE is less or greater than another. 

~ Unconditional Love – When conditions are attached to love, there is no love – only expectations. When love is given freely and fully, without strings attached, then divine love can flow. Be in love with life and with yourself, and be happy.

~ Trust and Patience – Let go and let Spirit be your guide. Trust and you’ll be led to your highest good. Fear not, for you are divinely protected. By giving up your agenda and following divine guidance, you’ll be shown the way. Trust that divine will is at work in your life. Be patient and at peace.

~ Faith and Conviction – Faith brings confidence and understanding of the right path to follow. Faith gives and assured expectation of positive results and outcomes. Without faith, nothing can be accomplished. With faith, everything is possible.

~ Guilelessness and Sincerity – Be innocent as a little child and let go of masks and facades. Only the sincere seeker, with pure intentions, without hidden motives, can enter the divine kingdom. There’s a special place in God’s heart for the innocent.

~ Contentment – A contented heart, full of love, is a happy heart. The simple state of contentment is the final destination of all seekers. Contentment can’t be bought in the marketplace. It can only be earned through peacefulness.

~ Inner Peace – Be still and be at peace in the heart of divine love. Your inner center is the place of perfect peace, the place to return to. There you drink an infinite well-spring of peacefulness and repose.

~ Serenity and Tranquility – Like the sun reflecting on a still pond, the mind in quietude knows true serenity. Your heart is at rest when your body and mind settle to silence and your breath is suspended. This evenness of mind and stillness of body is the state of Samadhi.

~ Joy and Happiness – Lift your heart in joy and be glad, for the divine is your indwelling Spirit, and you are one with that blessed presence each moment. Let Spirit fill you with the true joy of inner contentment. Rejoice in divine love and be happy.

~ Balance and Centeredness – At the center of your being is the place of perfect balance where your heart is at rest and mind is at peace. Here you find the middle way, the way of truth in centeredness, serenity, evenness, and equipoise. Be in that center of perfect equilibrium.

~ Responsibility – Responsibility is the ability to respond to any situation with equanimity. Taking responsibility means taking control of your life and not blaming others for misfortunes. Letting God be your guide is the most responsible path to follow.

~ Self-Sufficiency and Self-Reliance – There’s only one person you can rely on. Yourself. You’re the captain of this ship. The sooner you realize this, the happier you’ll be. Take command of your life, take the rudder, steer your ship on the desired course, and be free.

~ Humility – Humility isn’t self-effacement. It’s self-confidence and self-reliance, the capacity to love yourself so completely that you now, beyond a shadow of doubt, that God loves you unconditionally. That’s true humility.

~ Flexibility – If you want to know truth, give up all your opinions. If you want to know God, give up all your stubbornness. Only the malleable can be led by Spirit. Only the willing can be shown the way.

~ Non-Resistance – Let life flow through you like water flows downstream. Fighting gravity is a fruitless occupation. So give up the fight, let go, and let God.

~ Perfection – Perfection can’t be found in this world of duality. It’s beyond the relative, in the plane of non-duality, oneness – the absolute. There’s only one perfection, one peace, one contentment. Seek to know that, and be free.

~ Compassion – A compassionate heart, overflowing with love, judges not, but sees only truth. Compassion treats all beings as precious and all life as sacred. Empathy and heart-felt understanding arise from seeing life from the perspective of others.

~ Forgiveness – Forgiveness is easy when you take responsibility for your own actions. Forgiveness is impossible when you blame others for your misfortunes. You’re the author of your life, and others are just acting in the drama you’ve written.

~ Purity – Purity arises from contract with the undefiled: the one wholeness, the perfection of being. At your center of being is the indwelling Spirit, where purity dwells. Purity has nothing to do with habits, lifestyle, or diet. It’s reflective of consciousness at peace.

~ Freedom – Free yourself from the shackles of material world. Be in the world but not of the world. Unattached to ephemeral things, cling to the indwelling divine presence, which lasts eternally. Then you’re truly free.

~ Harmony – Waves of harmony vibrate around the enlightened. Waves of discord radiate from the ignorant. Your influence can be one of harmony or discord. Choose your thoughts, words, and deeds well, and radiate peace.

~ Divine Power – The power of love is true power. With love as your sword and shield, no outside force can conquer you. With your mind attuned to Spirit and heart fixed in love, nothing can overpower you. You are all-powerful in divine love.

~ Kindness and Gentleness – Only by being kind to yourself can you be gentle with others. Self-judgment causes harshness, while self-acceptance engenders patience. Judge not and embrace compassion. Be kind and gentle toward all beings and consider every life precious as your own.

~ Surrender to the Divine – When your heart swells with divine love, there’s no thought of sacrifice or surrender; there’s only the desire to serve. Love of God is total surrender. Devotion is complete freedom to live in harmony with nature, in utter happiness and contentment. Such a life is worth living, a life divine.

~ Grace – Grace is harmony with nature’s laws. In the right place at the right time, doing the right thing, you bask in the light of divine grace. Love is the vehicle for grace to flow into your life. Be in love with God and live in grace.

~ Spiritual Maturity – Separating wheat from chaff, knowing what’s real and what’s false, knowing you’re in control of your destiny, willingness to guide others along the path towards freedom – that’s spiritual maturity.

~ Wisdom and Enlightenment – The transitory world of duality is a mere shadow of the brilliant divine light, the indwelling Spirit, the reality of being. Realizing who you are is the goal of human life. The enlightened see the truth, which sets them free. The ignorant mistake the phantom for reality. Truth frees you from the shackles of ignorance. Free from bondage, from the cycle of birth and death, you attain liberation.

A Message From Spirit

You are not this body. You are not this mind. You are not this ego. You are the Christ consciousness, the God within. You are not limited by your habits, your past, or your environment. You are a God-consciousness divine being. Radiate the truth of your being and live the light of life. Wake up to who you really are.
